About this space

Vacation Acadia: “On Island Time". A cute coastal themed cottage steps to waterfront & right in downtown Bar Harbor. Waterview & smell of salty sea breeze greet you from the doorstep! Ollie’s Trolley just across the street. Close to Agamont Park, Bar Island Trail, Ocean Path. Short easy walk down the streets & dine at restaurants. Tandem Parking for 2. Each room equipped with mini splits to provide heat and cooling during warm Bar Harbor summer months!

The space

This is a 3 bedroom 1 full bath, 1/2 bath vacation home. Upon entering is a 3-season porch. where to your left are two comfortable leather recliners, and a fireplace for the winter months. To your right is a dining table that seats 6 people. Next to it is a cozy sofa with Smart TV with a sliding door to access the outdoor deck /patio and grill.

The second door leads you to the living room with a leather sofa with another smart TV. The full flight of stairs leading to the three bedrooms upstairs will be on your right.

Past the living room, is the kitchen with a peninsula granite counter top with seating for three. This area connects via a sliding door to the outdoor deck/patio. The kitchen has granite counter top equipped to cook a full basic meal. We also provide a lobster pot and crackers. Washer & Dryer are in the kitchen . Full bath with walk in shower, sliding glass door, single vanity sink is right next to the kitchen.

The three bedrooms upstairs are small but very cozy. With comfortable beds, pillows and a day & night blinds which help provide restful sleep. Each bedroom has heat pumps with remote control to provide personalized heating and cooling. At the end of the hallway is the half bath.

This property can easily park two vehicles. Parking by the gravel has to be in tandem to accommodate 2 large vehicles.

This house was designed with guest comfort in mind. There are many spaces to spread around the house.

The deck with patio is connected to the covered front Porch and the Kitchen. Enjoy outdoor seating with retractable awning to shade you from the elements. We have propane grill for your cooking pleasure. There are three large garbage disposal bins stored in the outdoor plastic shed on the right side of the house. The first one on the left is for recyclable cans and bottles. The middle and right bins are for regular trash.

The house is four seasons. It has centralized heating system using hot water baseboard heater. The Nest thermostat is located in the living room. A convection wall heater and a propane fire place warms up the covered porch.

The outdoor patio furniture will not be available from November to April. The propane grill however can be available on demand during the cold months. Please let the host know.

Bar Harbor town has a paid parking system between May to October now increased to $4 an hour! Other months of the year parking around town is free. You may ride your bike around town, walk to the nearby restaurants, shops, bar, and even to the beautiful scenic Shore Path. The Island Explorer Bus is free provided you have a Park Pass. Please visit their web site for their designated Bus Stops and destinations.

Guests with service animals are encouraged to notify the Host. Host has severe allergies to pet hair and dander. Due to medical reasons Host is unable to accommodate guests with animals.

We bought this older home built in 1958 which we renovated in 2021, so expect a mix of old and new. Smaller sized bedrooms but very cozy with own heat pumps for heating and cooling. Stairs are somewhat creaky as expected with older homes. If you are familiar with Bar Harbor - you will appreciate the superb location of this home, which is the main reason we have this home. Free 2 vehicle tandem parking. Parking is a huge issue during the peak tourist months. With free parking for 2 vehicles is a big plus!

Guests with service animals are encouraged to notify the host / owner because of animal hair allergy by one of the owners / host who is closely engaged with maintaining the property.

We take pride in the cleanliness of our property. We personally manage them. We provide fresh laundered beddings, sheets, and towels every turnover. We clean, air out, and sanitize the place after each guest stay to give our next guests' peace of mind.

During May to October Check In time is at 5:00 PM and Check Out time is at 10:00 AM. However on off peak season (November to April) provided there are no same day turnovers or a least a day gap between guest stays- we allow early check in between 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm.

Grill and outdoor patio furniture are not available from November to March. The grill however can be available on demand during the cold months. Please message the host. We would be happy to have them available.

We provide baby high chair, Pack n' Play and baby gate. They are stored in the bedroom closet facing the road.

Even though the refrigerator has an ice making feature. It is not hook up to a waterline so it does not make ice.

The area is in a prime location in Bar Harbor, walking distance to restaurants, bars, and shops, yet in a relatively quiet residential area. The place is just steps to Main Street - where Bar Harbor Waterfront, tours, restaurants, ice cream shops, Agamont Park, Bar Island Trail are located.

Getting around

Everything is accessible in DT Bar Harbor by foot. This home is just steps to the waterfront and Agamont where folks gather for 4th of July fireworks. Play with the kiddos in the beach area by the town waterfront, watch seagulls, enjoy the panoramic view of the waterfront from Agamont Park and experience the crisp clean sea air. Walk along Shore Path. Grab some ice cream. Everything is walking distance including the Whale Watch Tours.



Walk to restaurants and ice cream shops. Best of all have the option to stop by at the house in the middle of the day to rest your tired feet in our recliners.

There is paid street parking from May to October. Other months street and parking lot parking is free. You can ride your bike around town, walk to the nearby restaurants, shops, bars, and even the scenic Shore Path. Acadia National Park Hulls Cove Visitor Center is just 6-8 minutes drive. The Island Explorer Bus is free provided you have a Park Pass. Please visit their web site to know their bus stop locations and destinations throughout the town and the National Park.

Hannahford grocery store is only a few blocks from here. The Bar Island is accessible by foot on low tide and is just a few minutes walk.

Excellent location, cozy, cute house for an enjoyable vacation made for making memorable memories with family and friends!
